This is a scene based ooff a vid I found on Veoh, I want to do something with realistic movement, I'm focusing on breaking into either the games or VFX industry. I added a frame counter to the video in After Effects (video 1) and then sketched out the keys and breakdowns in Flash (video 2) to make the Maya Process as streamlined as possible (inspired by Jason Ryan's method of working)

The third video is my blocking.

Run Again





Not finished just yet. I mean to upload the earlier stepped version, but my internet was on the fritz, so I went ahead into the curve editor.
Looking at it now I'm anxious to do a run with a bit more personality in it now that I have the basics down.

Run Cycle

Yo, thought I'd start a regular walk cycle after realising that I'd never actually animated one before, shock horror! The next one I do will have a bit more personality but this one's just for getting used to it. This is the blocking stage so far.







Already I can see the spine and neck are a bit too static, not happy with the hands yet either.
Any comments/critiques would be greatly appreciated.

Still not satisfied with the head and upper body movement, but definately getting there. Also the (inbetween) pose that Vimeo screencapped looks a bit odd.
